The official "break-in" for the family cabin just happened to be on Christmas day, with Sean's lil' fam and mine arriving late Christmas Eve, just before Santa showed up. There was still enough snow to goof in, and it was cold enough to make the cabin feel that much cozier when you came back inside.

Three days away from the world was an added unexpected bonus, as the slower lifestyle seemed to start right on Xmas morning; where we usually have a mad explosion of wrapping paper and rushing through the morning, this time we all slowed things down to admire and talk about what was in each package, something we've always wanted to do more of but just never seem to have the time (or energy) for. Until now :)
