While I was a bachelor in Chico, I was out having a cocktail with my drummer at Normal Street Bar, the darkest, loudest, smelliest bar in town. For some reason, it was a hecka popular spot though, and I where I first laid eyes on Calli. She was with a girl-friend of mine, and wouldn't give me the time of day, leaving shortly thereafter.

Eleven years later, I wrote a song about it. And every artist says "This album is my best in years" just to sell albums, I've got no such aspirations of fame. But as far as the kind of music I personally enjoy listening to, it's the best song I've recorded in years.
